Dirty Sounds

G7
When I was a little boy
So far away from here
My daddy was a serviceman
He thought I could be him
He was an honest communist
My mommy was a teacher
I tried to be a good boy man
But dad was such a preacher

He hated sounds of rock-n-roll
He called them "boo, boo, boo"
And only when I was alone
I turned on my radio
I didn't know my English
They were just magic sounds
I banged my head on my piano
When music was around

                  B
   I was getting wild
   C D# G7
When I heard those Dirty Sounds
                  B
   I was getting wild
   C D# G7
When I heard those Dirty Sounds

I didn't wanna be a soldier
I didn't wanna fight at all
All I need is my guitar
And sweet, sweet rock-n-roll
I ran away from daddy's home
Let my hair grow long
I put together a rocking band
My love was just a song

   I was getting wild
When I did those Dirty Sounds
   I was getting wild
When I did those Dirty Sounds

So many years have passed
And I've become a star
My daddy's telling on TV
He bought my first guitar
Well, everthing is legal now
Big changes in the world
I keep my music from the past
It's reel-to-real
Rock-N-Roll

   I was getting wild
When I did those Dirty Sounds
   I was getting wild
When I did those Dirty Sounds
